I am a 36 year old lady writer, mother, partner, stitcher, and human being. Our current household consists of my spouse Ralph and I, our two children Phoenix (10), and Nels (8), one pointer-mix dog, four kitties, and a leopard gecko.

Ralph and I have been together about fourteen years (we celebrated our eleventh wedding anniversary September 8th last year). We started our family in the lovely seaport-cum-tourist town of Port Townsend, Washington, the United States. We moved to Hoquiam in 2007 to be close to my childhood home and my father, who was dying of cancer. I lost him in August 2008.

I love to sew, write, sing and dance, and watch ridiculous B-movies. I do these things while raising and unschooling two active and awesome kiddos and feeding us all on a single- and working class income. I am in Recovery and work with other addicts and alcoholics on a daily basis. I sew, write, publish, advise, take photographs, and tweet.

Comment Policies

I moderate comments. Hate speech isn’t tolerated (i.e. disparaging an entire group of people, or just general assery/sarcasm… when in doubt, think it over first). I’ve only had to dismiss three comments so far out of about five thousand and counting. Don’t be a pain in my arse and add yourself to the very short list.

Any questions or emails sent to me may be made public (many of them aren’t); I usually use a first initial if I refer to anyone by name. If you’d like any degree of anonymity or for your email to be excluded from potential publication, do let me know when you write. I’ve been publishing for seven years and only had one request to change something I wrote. I think I do pretty good at not making an ass-hat of myself regarding my readers and responders.
