The kids and I made candles yesterday (thanks in part to a very sweet gift from a reader). They are deep green and scented with essential oils and fragrance: ylang ylang, patchouli, mandarin, and neroli. I didn’t take pictures in the daytime because they’re not that awesome. Lotsa bubbles. But they work! Nels likes them a lot and they sit, now, atop my dresser and fill the room with a lovely ambiance.
All is well here. How about you?
all is … not well yet but not horrible either. found out yesterday due to taking what the college thinks are too many courses over the years, that i will now be graduating in March if the plan the adviser and i worked out is approved by fin aide.
i hope the plan is approved so i can get at least my AA before moving on to University.
that being said credit are sooooo much cheaper at the community college level i was really hoping to hang out till next Dec – had this whole awesome plan that an adviser at UW and i worked out for taking as much as possible at the lower priced school.
ugh.
and it also means no big fat student loan check next month to help with bills while i find me some amazing (or not) job.
fuck it. i will figure it out and life will be awesome. period.
“fuck it. i will figure it out and life will be awesome. period.”
That is a great mantra to get us through! What degree are you chasing?
Mmmm – mandarin and neroli. Sounds lovely. I want to take time to do some more hands-on stuff with the kids when I finally get this house organized – specifically bread-making with Maeve and Gwyn. If only the boy weren’t constantly running into the street, I’d just let him run around outside with his sisters and finish the house. Alas, the sisters do not pay attention to him and allow him to stand in the road sans shirt and shoes (and sometimes sans pants) without telling anyone or bothering to gently lead him back to the sidewalk. And so my big plans for being totally unpacked and having a sewing area set up are constantly interrupted.
Awesome. I’m sure they’ll get better looking (not that I can see them) as you go along. Functional is pretty freaking great for the first try.
I literally smelled over 50 different kinds of roses on a walk today. It’s pretty damned cliché but it did make my day a whole lot better. Go figure. Oh, and I ate some weird key lime thing covered, and I mean, covered, in delicious whipped cream while I sipped on an Earl Grey in that weird and wonderful Northwest drizzle-mist that can’t really be called “rain” but out-of-towners always try to label it as such.
