Phoenix: the terror of Morrison Riverfront Park.
She chased the “little kids” around – with their enthusiastic consent.
The children on board The Lady Washington. Grandma bought Nels some doubloons.
I remember was about Phoenix’s age when this craft was built here in Aberdeen.
I watched some of the process. They built it old-school.
Cool pix.
I think I’ve heard of that ship – didn’t they use it in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies or something like that? Looks like a fun place to visit, something my younger 2 would be all over. Come to think of it, all 3 of them would dig a visit to a ship like this. I’ll have to store that idea away for the future.
Lovely shot of the sky and water – makes Aberdeen look pretty, and that’s good, considering a friend of my brother’s used to live in the area and said the other day that it was a shithole. I wouldn’t know, since we drove through when it was dark. The only thing I saw up close was the Walmart, and that’s a story in itself. You manage to have captured so much in this image that is the antithesis of her attitude that I want to believe that this is how it really looks there. Love how the sun on the water is this blaze of white light.
The shot of the tree cutting made me laugh,not because it’s funny but because T-bird is constantly pointing out log trucks as we drive and shouting “Log Truck!” He’s all about machinery and given the size of the ‘jaws’ on this vehicle he’d lose his mind with giddiness.
@Jen
It has been in a few movies including one Star Trek one. And yes, the PotC films. But I know less about it than I “should”, given she is home-grown.
Aberdeen, is it a shithole? I’ve heard it thus described. I always wonder about people who insist some area is horrible because they are also in effect saying the people who live there are gross, or depraved, or don’t care about their own environment, etc. etc. I haven’t found that to be true. I take lot sof pictures of the area and I think it’s physically beautiful. The people are beautiful in any way.
That tree-cutting thing is a monster. I imagine it can’t cut very large trees but I think if it were lowered on an organic being it would make short work of it!
