2020 Bespoke Hogaboom Holiday Stitch 'N' Bitch

the holiday stitch ‘n’ bitch is here!

So I guess I kind of pretended I wasn’t going to conduct a sew-along for the month of December but, heck. Let’s do it! Featuring this year’s HOLIDAY STITCH AND BITCH!

So! Thanks if you joined us last month for the #wildwoodsewalong – we had a great time with Peggy Mead from @sewhouse7 and Ambrosia Kramer. This month I’m back with Traci Kay Pryde from @pryde.hantverk and we are leading you through two very simple and satisfying projects: a lined stocking, and a twist-top headband!

Project #1, on Tuesday the 15th:

2020 Bespoke Hogaboom Holiday Stitch 'N' Bitch

Above: double-layer stockings, constructed with handmade mudcloth and lined with scrap linen! 100% plant-based, biodegradable, vegan fibers.

But you can make yours with anything you like! Even stretch fabrics – although that will be a bit trickier – will still work!

To sew this project you need 1/4 yard of your outer fabric, 1/4 yard of your lining, your paper stocking pattern (there are loads online, but I’ll also demonstrate how to make one) – as well as your tuned-up sewing machine and manual, pins, needles, and thread!

Project #2, on Thursday the 17th:

2020 Bespoke Hogaboom Holiday Stitch 'N' Bitch

Above: twist-top headband. You can make this up dressy, casual, or plain!

You need 3/4 yard of a 2- or 4-way stretch fabric and a sewing tape measure, as well as your tuned-up sewing machine and manual, pins, needles, and thread!

Our schedule! All events at 5 PM Pacific:

TUE 15: Sewing our stocking
THU 17: Sewing our headband

All my sew-alongs are hosted simultaneously on my Bespoke Hogaboom Facebook page and my Twitch channel; they are then uploaded to my Vimeo channel if you miss out!

And a reminder – you can subscribe to my calendar to make sure you don’t miss my classes!

So yes – I will have a Christmas jukebox, and there will be cocoa! This is going to be some cozy stuff!

We’ll see you on the 15th!
